Three Ligue 1 matches advanced due to cold
The Ligue 1 matches between Dijon and Valenciennes, Nancy and Rennes and Saint-Etienne and Lorient on Saturday have been brought forward from 1900 local time (1800GMT) to 1500 due to adverse weather.
France's Professional Football League (LFP) announced the new match times on Friday and said the decision to advance the games was "due to the particularly low temperatures" currently being recorded in parts of France.
"The forecasts remain optimistic that the matches will be able to take place this weekend despite the very bad weather conditions," said the LFP in a statement.
At Dijon, the pitch has been covered and heated for several days, while an 'anti-ice' cover has been installed at Saint-Etienne's Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
Nancy, meanwhile, saud that at their Stade Marcel-Picot, "the synthetic pitch offers all the necessary guarantees that the match will be able to go ahead".
Nonetheless, the LFP issued a reminder that match referees have the power to postpone matches up to two hours before kick-off.
