Orlandi backed to succeed

Reggina coach Nevio Orlandi has been handed a vote of confidence by club president Pasquale Foti even though Sunday's 4-0 defeat at Genoa left his side rooted to the foot of the Serie A table.

Reggina have won only one of their 11 games so far this season and have lost all six of their away matches, scoring once and conceding 16 goals in the process.

After the latest loss, which saw Andrea Costa sent off before the interval, Foti insisted: "We are convinced the performance, before we went a man down, showed the desire of the team and that of the coach to climb out of the drop-zone.

"We have to continue to work hard and the results will come our way."

Orlandi has been in charge at the Stadio Oreste Granillo since March when he replaced Renzo Ulivieri.

The 54-year-old successfully guided the club away from the relegation zone last season.
