Van der Vaart wants Madrid stay

26 July 2010 04:19
Real Madrid mis-fit Rafael van der Vaart has reiterated his desire to force his way into the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Dutchman found himself out in the cold last season under Manuel Pellegrini and, with Jose Mourinho now in the managerial hot-seat, he is hoping to make an impact ahead of the new campaign. Van der Vaart has also spoke of his disappointment at the English media after they suggested he could be on the verge of a move to Chelsea. Speaking to De Telegraaf, he said: "I'm determined to stay at Real Madrid. I want to stay here and succeed at Real. "It's a shame that the English press has misquoted me. They've written things that are simply not true."
