Ronaldo issues Lyon warning

Cristiano Ronaldo has warned Lyon that Real Madrid are determined to boss the second leg of their Champions League last 16 encounter on Wednesday night.

Real trail 1-0 following a disappointing first leg in France three weeks ago.

But despite admitting that the Spanish giants are under pressure to perform, the Portugal star claims that he and his Madrid team-mates are ready to send out a message to the rest of Europe.

"We need to show that, at the Bernabeu, we are the ones in charge," he said.

"We already know Lyon are a strong team but now we are playing at home and I am confident that we will progress.

"It would be a huge disappointment if we did not. We are going to go out with the mentality of winning and scoring goals.

"If our midfield is more offensive, even better. But that decision depends on (coach Manuel) Pellegrini."
