Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo believes his club can land the La Liga title this season despite trailing leaders and current holders Barcelona by two points.

Manuel Pellegrini's side still have to face the Catalan giants at their Santiago Bernabeu home and know that their destiny rests in their own hands.

Following their fine 5-1 away-day success at Tenerife at the weekend, Ronaldo thinks they have enough in the tank to land the prize.

He said: "I'm sure that we'll win the league. We only have to worry about ourselves and continue doing the same as we are now. We believe in our chances.

"The game against Barcelona at home could be key, but we're still not thinking about this date and we are only taking it game by game and trying to improve every day."
