Ronaldo backs Pellegrini to stay

Real Madrid sensation Cristiano Ronaldo has offered coach Manuel Pellegrini his support by claiming he would like to see him remain at the helm for the foreseeable future.

Pellegrini has came in for stinging criticism this term and has been widely tipped to be replaced by Internazionale boss Jose Mourinho in the summer, but Ronaldo is hopeful he will stay on next term.

He said: "I'm going to be honest. I like people who have a winning mentality.And with that I'm not referring to Mourinho or another coach.

"I am very happy with Pellegrini. He's doing very well and helping us a lot.

"For me he is the most important coach. It's not my thing to talk about other coaches. You have to have respect for Pellegrini.

"Let's hope he stays at Real Madrid one, two or three more years."
