Real Madrid have revealed that they will hold a press conference on Monday lunchtime when Jose Mourinho will be confirmed as their new manager.
The Spanish giants have agreed a compensation package with Inter Milan less than a week after Mourinho guided the Serie A club to a Champions League final victory against Bayern Munich.
It is a similar scenario to six years ago when Mourinho left FC Porto after leading them to Champions League glory to take up the managerial position at Chelsea.
Club presidents Massimo Moratti and Florentino Perez met in Milan on Friday to agree compensation for the 47-year-old who has spent the last two seasons with Inter.
He replaces Manuel Pellegrini after the former Villarreal coach was sacked on Wednesday.
Pellegrini helped Real finish second in the Spanish League behind Barcelona this season when they scored 102 goals in 38 games.
However, after signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso last summer for almost £200million, a Champions League defeat to Lyon was never going to be enough to keep the Chilean in a job.
Mourinho's contract at the San Siro had another two years to run.
