Real offered Maicon hope

Real Madrid have been given hope that they still may be able to tempt Internazionale to sell Brazilian wing-back Maicon.

The two clubs have so far been unable to agree a fee for the 28-year-old defender, but agent Antonio Caliendo believes that a deal can still be reached in the near future.

He told Calciomercato.it: "For the moment there is a difference between offer and demand. The sooner the situation is resolved, the better it is.

"The ribbon has to be cut by both presidents. If he does leave Inter then Real Madrid is the likely possibility.

"I think it will not be difficult for both presidents to reach an agreement."
