Real Madrid sporting director Miguel Pardeza has dismissed newspaper reports in Argentina linking Fernando Ruben Gago with a move to the Premier League.

The Spanish giants have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Liverpool star Xabi Alonso, but Gago is still needed as they mount their assault on La Liga and Europe this season.

Everton reportedly tabled an offer of around £13.7million for Gago but there are no plans to offload the 23-year-old, who joined the club from Boca Juniors two years ago.

Speaking to reporters, Pardeza said: "There is no way that Gago will be sold any time soon."
