Ramos to keep title fight going
10 May 2010 - 07:32:06
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is hoping Real Valladolid can do his side a favour next weekend when they take on title rivals Barcelona.
With just one game of the La Liga season remaining, Real can only land the title if they beat Malaga and Barca slip up at the Camp Nou against Javier Clemente's side.
However, despite the possible scenarios not looking good for Real, Ramos has insisted they will fight all the way.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "We can only think about continuing to fight.
"The first thing to think about is picking up the three points against Malaga, an encounter you can't take as won because they're a team that are fighting for a lot.
"Then we have hope that Valladolid can cause a surprise as they are also playing to avoid relegation at the Nou Camp.
"We want to get to 98 points, and if Barca are proclaimed champions with 99 then we need to congratulate them.
"Both teams have had a great season. We both deserve to win the league but there is only one trophy."
