Rafael commits to Real future

Real Madrid's Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is content to stay put at the Bernabeu and try to prove his worth to the Spanish giants.

The 26-year-old struggled in his first season with Real, making just 19 starts in the league and Europe, but van der Vaart has dismissed talk of an imminent return to former club Hamburg.

He told Bild: "The time is not yet right to return, because I have a gut feeling which tells me so.

"It is a great honour for me to play together with the best players in the world. I can also learn a great deal from them."
