Jose Mourinho is not the right man for Real Madrid should they decide to make a coaching change, according to Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
Real could decide to replace Manuel Pellegrini this summer after just one season in charge of the big-spending Bernabeu club.
The pressure is on the Chilean after Real lost out to Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title and were dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.
However, should Pellegrini lose his job then Benitez does not believe that Mourinho is the right man to fill the coaching vacancy despite a CV bursting at the seams with success.
The former Chelsea coach has guided current club Internazionale to back-to-back Serie A titles and the Champions League final this season.
"I know Mourinho has dreamed a lot of coaching Real Madrid but I do not know if he is the right person to train Madrid," said the Liverpool boss, who has himself been linked with the Real job in recent years.
"Pellegrini has done a great job and deserves great respect because he's still coach and it's not pleasant to hear talk about who's going to replace you."
