    Pellegrini enjoys Real fightback

    08 Mar 2010 - 10:27:24

Real Madrid head coach Manuel Pellegrini was a happy man after seeing his side move to the top of the Primera Liga table with a thrilling 3-2 victory at home to Sevilla.

Real trailed 2-0 after an hour's play in the Bernabeu, before goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Rafael van der Vaart brought about a complete turnaround.

Pellegrini said after his side's success: "After Sevilla's (second) goal we reacted and from then on we played great football, created many opportunities and managed to miss four or five clear goalscoring chances.

"They barely had any chances and their two goals were quite strange and absurd. The scoreline did not reflect the difference there was between the two teams.

"It's important to be leaders, but the most important thing is not to depend on anybody, only on yourself. We've taken an important step forward, but it's not decisive.

"From here until the end of the season whoever makes the least mistakes will win the league.

"The season hasn't finished, there are 39 points still available and Barcelona will continue fighting."

Meanwhile, Sevilla head coach Manolo Jimenez fired a warning to Barca by telling Marca: "This is the best Real Madrid team I have seen and I have seen a lot.

"They played the electric football that they are famous for. They have players with height, power and speed."
