Real Madrid have been offered a word of advice from Rafael Marquez, the defender contracted to their fierce rivals Barcelona.
The Mexico international skipper believes the Santiago Bernabeu giants would be stupid to rush Cristiano Ronaldo back into the team following an ankle injury that he continues to recuperate from.
Marquez can relate to the Portugal star's predicament as he has suffered the same injury himself.
Speaking to the Barcelona official website, he said: "It is not simple because it is bruising inside the bone and curing it is difficult.
"It takes time to recover from that. That was what happened with me.
"I took all the measures possible to play, but it was impossible.
"It was in the foot with which I kick most - that meant that even training was not possible."
