Higuain eyes Bernabeu stay

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is determined to remain at the Bernabeu and prove his worth, despite the club's record summer spending spree.

The 21-year-old Argentinian has scored 32 goals in 92 league and European appearances for Real to date and is not phased by the arrivals of the likes of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Higuain told TyC Sports: "The arrival of high-quality players makes me be more motivated.

"Last season was my best since I arrived here and I am very happy.

"The coach showed confidence in me and I managed to prove my best position is at forward and that I work well there."
