Heinze leads Real exodus

Defender Gabriel Heinze is set to begin the Real Madrid cost-cutting exercise by leaving for Marseille.

The Argentine is set to become the French side's tenth signing of the summer.

The club have confirmed that a deal has been agreed 'in principle', subject to a medical.

The former Manchester United defender is expected to pen a three-year deal at Stade Velodrome.

"The Argentina international should come to Marseille soon for the completion of the contract and to take a medical," read a club statement.

Heinze's departure follows the arrival of fellow defenders Raul Albiol and Alvaro Arbeloa at the Bernabeu.
