Real Madrid defender Ezequiel Garay has been dealt a devastating blow after it was confirmed he suffered a serious knee injury in the weekend friendly clash with Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old Argentine centre-back dislocated his knee during the Franz Beckenbauer Cup fixture and he is now set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
A statement on the club's official website read: "An MRI performed at Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital has confirmed that Real Madrid C.F.'s Ezequiel Garay disclocated his right kneecap but without any further damage to adjacent areas. The player will begin treatment pending progress and further complementary diagnostic testing if needed."
