Gago has no Real exit plans

Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago has no intention of leaving the club despite recent reports suggesting he will be moving during this month's transfer window.

The 23-year-old Argentinian has made almost 100 appearances for Real since making his debut three years ago but his start against Real Mallorca at the weekend was his first since September.

Gago is desperate to re-establish himself in the Real first team though, telling Goal.com: "I never said I wanted to leave Real Madrid and neither did my agent.

"The truth is there is so much said I don't want to analyse it. I feel good, I'm calm and I only think about continuing to work to try to earn a place, nothing more.

"I do not see myself anywhere else. I know that today I have a contract at Real Madrid and I have to earn a place, so I must fight to earn a place in the team.

"I must continue working day by day, week after week, and know that every time a chance comes I must take full advantage."
