Goalkeeper Iker Casillas is hoping history can repeat itself and Real Madrid can snatch the La Liga title from under the noses of Barcelona on a dramatic final weekend.
Barca know that victory over Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou will see them crowned champions for a second successive year, as they head into the weekend with a one-point advantage.
However, Real are in action in Malaga and long-serving keeper Casillas is refusing to give up hope of his club snatching the title away in dramatic circumstances.
"We know it won't be easy to win the title. We'll have to win and wait," he told the club's official website.
"Barcelona won the title in a situation like the one we are in now 17 or 18 years ago.
"Real Madrid had to win in Tenerife and they lost. I was very young but I remember.
"It seemed impossible for Real Madrid to lose, but they did and Barcelona took the title.
"Everything seems to be against us, but there is much at stake for Valladolid - they don't want to be relegated.
"There are also high stakes for Malaga. Both matches will be complicated."
