Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has hinted that he will again try to prise Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United in a year's time.
The Portugal ace was the subject of a lengthy pursuit by Real this summer, before eventually opting to stay at Old Trafford for at least one more season.
However, Calderon seems certain to try again in 12 months' time.
He told Marca: "The truth is I don't know. The player continues having a contract with his club and as such we cannot do anything.
"I can't say anything about the coming year either, because I don't know what is going to happen.
"We don't even know if we are going to be here. We hope that he comes, touch wood, but in a year's time many things can happen.
"All the fans want to see a player like Cristiano Ronaldo here, but I am convinced that in the same manner that Manchester would love to see all our players in their team.
"Cristiano is not going to come now. As for the coming year, only God knows."
