Benfica's Coentrao in 30m euro Real move

Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao is set to move to Spain after the Portuguese club announced on Tuesday that they had reached an 'agreement in principle' to sell him to Real Madrid for 30 million euros

The agreement will be formalised when the 23-year-old Portugal international has passed his medical, Benfica said in a statement to the stock exchange authorities.

Local media reports in Portugal claim he will sign a five-year contract with Madrid where he will work with fellow-Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.

Coentrao was a member of the Benfica team that won the domestic league and cup double in 2009 and was an ever-present in Portugal's 2010 World Cup campaign in South Africa.
