Monzon happy with Betis deal

Argentina defender Fabian Monzon is pleased to have tied up a move to Real Betis from Boca Juniors, having been set to join Hamburg earlier this summer.

The 21-year-old will join up with his new club after completing his international duties, having impressed at the Olympic Games las t month.

Monzon said: "I have been transferred for one season to Betis and there is an option for my entire transfer, which is something that has to be decided at the end of the year.

"With Hamburg, the transfer had been nearly all agreed, but then suddenly Betis appeared and my agent said to me that that was the best decision.

"My transfer was getting delayed and I was starting to get nervous and upset. Fortunately, now it has been completed and I will have to show on the pitch what I can do.

"I am very happy for what has happened to me in my career in a short time and now I have to show to Betis why they have trusted in me."
