Edu rocked by new injury blow

Real Betis' Brazilian forward Edu is set to be sidelined for at least six weeks by a recurrence of a leg injury.

The 32-year-old only recently returned to action after missing the first couple of months of the new season, but sustained a fresh problem in the 2-0 Copa del Rey victory over Castellon in midweek.

Betis' club doctor, Santiago Perez Hidalgo, told AS: "He has had the misfortune to have a new fracture around the old injury with a serious edema.

"We will do an intensive treatment in our rehabilitation clinic so that he returns as soon as possible.

"Edu took the news of this new mishap quite badly. The player was quite upset, but these are things that happen in football."
