David Moyes has added further Scottish influence to the Real Sociedad coaching staff with the appointment of Billy McKinlay.

Manager Moyes made Sociedad his first club since Manchester United a fortnight ago and on Saturday took charge of his first game as they drew with Elche.

He has now moved to add the experienced McKinlay as his assistant coach, with the 45-year-old confirmed in the role on the club's official website.

A former Scotland midfielder, McKinlay had a brief spell in charge of Watford earlier this season, while he has also served on the coaching staffs of Fulham and Northern Ireland.

Sociedad's website added that McKinlay completed Moyes' staff, which also consists of coach Asier Santana, strength coach Karla Larburu and goalkeeping coach Roberto.
