The main play-maker for Madrid, Ozil's stats show why Real Madrid were desperate for their man after he shone in the FIFA 2010 World Cup for Germany.

With 25 and 24 assists in his first two seasons at Madrid, it is clear to see Mesut Ozil is pivotal to Madrid's play. Ozil finished the 11/12 season with 17 assists just in the league, which contributed to Madrid becoming the first Spanish club to ever reach 100 points in a season.

His fine form for club and country saw him nominated for UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, in which he finished 10th, being the youngest in Top 10.

EURO 2012 was a fine competition for Ozil. Scoring 5 and assisting 7 in the qualifications. His performances at EURO 2012 earned him two Man of the Match Awards.

With a career record of 33 goals, compared to 98 assists, it is clear to see Ozil is a team player. He vows to want to stay at Madrid for the rest of his career and Madrid should be just as desperate for him to stay.
