A thrilling game at The Bernabeu saw Real Madrid beat English champions Manchester City 3-2.
City had taken the lead twice through Edin Dzeko and Alexander Kolorov, only for Marcelo and Benzema to draw Madrid level.
A moment of magic was required to end this game once and for all. The last 10 minutes was really end to end stuff. Ronaldo – who had been noted 'unhappy' at Madrid prior to the game came up with the goods. The £80,000,000 man cut inside Maicon on the left, before hammering a shot which caused Vincent Kompany too duck out the way - into the back of Joe Hart's net.
The England No.1 had a brilliant night in between the sticks – and was let down by the usually ever reliant Kompany on this occasion. Ronaldo struck the shot with such power – the dip on the ball had Hart beaten and saw Madrid victorious on the night.
