Ronaldo, Bale return to Madrid training

World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo took part in training with his Real Madrid teammates on Thursday morning despite having being forced off with an injury early in his side's 1-1 draw at Valladolid on Wednesday.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti said after the game that he didn't believe Ronaldo's injury was a serious problem and the Portuguese was able to run freely during the session on Thursday, alongside Gareth Bale, who had also missed the trip to Valladolid due to a knock suffered in the 2-2 draw against Valencia on Sunday.

Two consecutive draws have all but ended Real's quest for a 33rd La Liga title as they trail Atletico Madrid by four points with just two games remaining.

Ancelotti may therefore rest his two star men in Real's last two league games against Celta Vigo and Espanyol to ensure they are fit to face Atletico in the Champions League final on May 24.
