Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos trained with the squad that will be available for the first 'clasico' of the season on Sunday, after missing Spain's mid-week friendly against Italy through injury.

"(Coach) Jose Mourinho was able to enjoy some great news: the return of Sergio Ramos to the group," a team statement said Friday after the penultimate training session before the first leg of the SuperCup against bitter rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu.

"After overcoming his injuries, the Madrid defender returned to work at the same rate as his peers in the third training session since the team returned from its tour of China, in order to prepare for the SuperCup."

Ramos returned from a trip to China with the Real Madrid squad with a reoccurrence of back pain he first experienced during the club's US tour.

He was left out of Vicente del Bosque's squad for the friendly against Italy in Bari on Wednesday, which Spain lost 2-1.

Barcelona said Thursday that Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets are in doubt for the match after they picked up injuries against Italy.

The second leg of the Supercup will be played at Barcelona's Camp Nou on August 17.
