Real Madrid eye Foxes stopper Schmeichel

Kasper Schmeichel could be in line for a shock move to Spanish giants Real Madrid as Jose Mourinho looks to give No 1 Casillas competition. The Daily Mail report that the 25-year-old stopper is on Madrid's hit list after goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro was instructed to bring in long-term successor to the Spanish national team captain Iker Casillas.

The son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel started his career at Manchester City, making his debut whilst on loan to Darlington in 2006.

Schmeichel has had spells at Notts County and also Leeds before joining Leicester City in 2011 and was voted their player of the season last campaign.
