Iker Casillas and Mourinho's personalities clash

Just a day after Real Madrid beat APOEL and are on their way to the semi-finals, there has been reports that there is a bust up between Iker Casillas and manager Jose Mourinho.

Working with Mourinho can‘t be the easiest thing in the world, but one of his players has really got on his bad side according to a Spanish newspaper.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho wants to “get rid” of Iker Casillas. “The relationship between the two is very bad” reads the online article. Apparently this supposed bust-up arose because of Mourinho and Casillas’ contrasting personalities and because Casillas doesn’t like “his way of doing things”. According to Sport.es Mourinho thinks the international goalkeeper has a negative influence in the team, because the rest of the internationals take Casillas’ side and this divides the squad.

The Catalonian newspaper says that Real Madrid’s directives are dreading to have to choose between the Portuguese coach and Iker. “If Mourinho stays he wants to get rid of him that way the team will stick to his ideas”.

More than a week ago, another online paper “El Confidencial” also reported on the bad relationship between the two, according to an article written on the 20th of March “Mourinho and Casillas are getting further apart, they haven't spoken in over a month”.

This is not the first time that rumours arose regarding the relationship between “The Special One” and Casillas, on the 22nd of January, Spanish paper Marca's front page showed an argument that Mourinho had with both Casillas and Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. Mourinho accused his players of “killing him” in the mixed zone, to which Ramos replied “No mister, you only read what the press said, you didn’t hear what we said”. Then Mourinho supposedly snapped back at the defender saying “Of course, because you Spanish were world champions, your friends from the press protect you” a comment that Casillas overheard and shouted back “Mister! Here we say things to people’s face, eh?”

Florentino hasn’t said anything about this yet, but people believe that although he admires Mourinho, if push came to shove, he would stand by the world champion.
