Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho surprisingly dropped German international midfielder Sami Khedira for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Khedira is replaced by Luka Modric in central midfield with Angel Di Maria coming back into the side on the right wing.

Michael Essien replaces Pepe in the only other change from last week's 4-1 defeat in the first leg in Germany, meaning Sergio Ramos will play alongside Raphael Varane in central defence.

Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp meanwhile was able to name the same side that started the first leg as Polish international Lukasz Piszcek passed a fitness test to start at right-back.
