Has Cristiano Ronaldo lost the plot?

He started out young, simple, hardworking even poor as some seek to stress but along with the pay cheques and notable success his insatiable ego has become clear for all to see.

One has to credit Sir Alex for quickly disposing of this rather talented egomaniac thereby keeping the Barclays Premier League free of over-important superstars. At the same time, one wonders how Florentino Perez survives through Ronaldo’s incessant demands.

Just when the world wants to love him, he goes on to have a bust-up with Jose Mourinho. When we want to celebrate with him, he refuses to celebrate in protest for more cash. When we want to call him a class-act, he vents out his frustration on his team mates. Just when we want to accept him as the best, he decides to be snide towards Lionel Messi.

However, his act against Cordoba is undoubtedly the worst yet. Never has a soccer star looked more like a wrestler. Never has violence been more needless and never has such a big time player looked so indifferent after seeing red. Also in the same game he couldn't celebrate Karim Benzema’s goal as if to stress that only his success matters. That breaking records is greater than the team effort.

It’s abundantly clear which Ronaldo we all prefer yet I doubt he can once again be his old selfless self.

Ronaldo

In an attempt to look classy he looks not only snobbish but foolish.
