David Beckham has been linked with sensational return to Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail.

Real Madrid are plotting a shock move to bring back David Beckham to the capital, with club president Florentino Perez a huge admirer of Beckham's global appeal and what recognition he can bring to the Spanish side.

Beckham is set to play his last game for Galaxy before embarking on 'one last challenge', suggesting that he aims to continue playing.

However, Perez does not see Beckham as an ideal candidate to play for his side. Perez eyes Beckham in a non-playing role – such as Zinedine Zidane's sporting director role at the club.

Upon his first spell at Real Madrid – Spanish magazine Forbes reported that he had been primarily responsible for the team's huge increase in merchandise sales, a total reported $600million.

Beckham however has a host of options when he leaves the MLS after December 1st, with Paris St Germain, Flamengo, Corinthians as well as options in China, America and even Middle Eastern clubs all vying for his signature.
