Cristiano Ronaldo eases fears over hamstring injury

Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have played down fears over his hamstring injury by claiming he is "all good" on social media.

The 31-year-old came off the pitch moments before the final whistle during Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Villarreal on Wednesday night after falling awkwardly.

Ronaldo had previously played every minute of every Primera Division game this season for Los Blancos but images of him clutching his hamstring had led to fears he could miss some of the title run-in.

After the game head coach Zinedine Zidane said: "He felt something right at the end, I can't say anything more about it but it was more of a scare than something serious."

Real are just a point behind leaders Barcelona and second-placed Atletico Madrid and face Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

But Ronaldo, who has scored 47 goals in 44 games for his club this season, said on Instagram: "All good. Thanks for your support."

Madrid were already missing Gareth Bale for the clash against the Yellow Submarine but the Wales international handed Zidane a boost by returning to training on Thursday after a calf injury.
