Ancelotti plays down Ronaldo injury fears

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti doesn't believe Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a serious injury when he was forced off inside 10 minutes of his side's 1-1 draw away to Valladolid on Wednesday.

The World Player of the Year has only recently returned to action due to a knee and then a hamstring problems.

However, Ancelotti played down suggestions his participation in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on May 24 could now be at risk.

The Italian also has concerns over the fitness of defender Pepe and Angel di Maria for Lisbon as they both finished the game with injury problems on a night when Real's La Liga title hopes were all but ended.

"I don't think Cristiano's problem is a big thing, but Pepe didn't end the game in good shape and we will see with Di Maria, although that shouldn't be too serious either," said Ancelotti.

Real now trail leaders Atletico Madrid by four points and are a point adrift of Barcelona with two games to play and will be mathematically out of the title race should Atletico beat Malaga at home on Sunday.
