McDermott happy for Zingarevich

Reading manager Brian McDermott was delighted to see owner-to-be Anton Zingarevich in the crowd as his side saw off Burnley 1-0 to rise to third place in the npower Championship.
Zingarevich's consortium, Thames Sport Investment, is set to complete a reported £40million takeover of the Berkshire club next month, and the clash with the Clarets was the first time the Russian tycoon has watched the Royals in action since the deal was announced in January.
"It's good for him to watch the game, have a look at the stadium and the training ground and what we're about really," said McDermott.
"If you're in a different country you're just hearing other people talk about it and not feeling the environment, and I think it's important to feel the environment. That's important because environment to me is everything.
"He will have enjoyed the victory, that was the most important thing. Burnley were a decent team, there's no doubt about that, so we have to be very pleased with that result."
Burnley boss Eddie Howe was frustrated that his side did not have something to show for their efforts.
"To come to a tough place like this and create chances like we did, we are disappointed to lose," he said.
"We started the game really well. In the first half we were very good, passed the ball well and created enough chances to have taken something from the game.
"We sliced Reading open at times, perhaps in the final third our quality wasn't at our usual standard, but be fair to Reading they defended the lead very well in the second half. They've got two very lively and quick wingers and we did well against them, we just switched off once.
"We've performed well against all the top sides. Tonight went against us but we're getting better every game. We're progressing as a team and the lads are really starting to believe in themselves."
