Young Lions call-up for McCarthy
Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has been called up to England`s Under-21 squad.
The in-form stopper has only made seven appearances for the Royals after making his debut against Watford in February.
But a string of impressive performances have attracted the attention of Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce, who has named him in his set-up for the matches against Denmark and Iceland.
McCarthy spent the early part of the season on loan at Brentford.
