Three-match ban for Lita

Reading manager Steve Coppell has admitted to being bitterly disappointed with the Football Association's decision to hand Leroy Lita a three-match ban.

The former Bristol City striker was found guilty of violent conduct after aiming a head-butt at Talal El Karkouri when the Royals played Charlton on Easter Monday.

The FA proved the charge after viewing video footage as the match referee, Graham Poll, had not seen the incident at the time.

Coppell told the Royals' official website: "I'm fully supportive of the process of trial by television, but I'm bitterly disappointed by the outcome in this case because I still consider the footage to be very inconclusive.

"But the decision has been made and we'll accept it."

The ban comes into immediate effect so Lita misses Saturday's Premiership clash against Fulham.
