Sonko scared of Blues return

Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko has revealed he is "scared" ahead of the Boxing Day trip to Chelsea after receiving death threats following his collision with Carlo Cudicini earlier in the season.

Sonko collided with Cudicini at the Madejski Stadium back on October 14 and the Blues keeper required hospital treatment.

The incident happened in the same match as team-mate Stephen Hunt clashed with Petr Cech in the opening minutes which left Chelsea's first-choice keeper with a fractured skull.

In the aftermath of the controversial match both Reading players received death threats and Sonko is uneasy about the return leg on December 26.

He told The Sun: "That incident has gone away. But now the next game is coming up.

"I've been scared. You have to take the letters seriously. Some people are nasty and capable of stupid things when it comes to revenge.

"Me and Stephen (Hunt) probably got letters from the same people."
