Royals snap up Irish striker

Reading have signed striker Dave Mooney from eircom League side Cork City.

Mooney, 23, has joined the Royals on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The striker has netted 15 times in 22 appearances for Cork this season.

"I am very pleased to complete this deal, which gives us five senior strikers and provides the manager with a good array of attacking options at his disposal," director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website.

"Goals are the key in any promotion campaign and we wish him every success."
