    Royals set for double boost

    20 Nov 2007 - 14:57:24

Reading could receive a double injury boost for Saturday's trip to Manchester City with Ibrahima Sonko and Michael Duberry both set for comebacks.

Royals physio Jon Fearn has revealed Senegal defender Sonko is likely to face the Citizens having shaken off a recent groin strain.

Sonko has only recently returned to action after missing the second half of the last campaign and opening months of the current season with knee ligament damage.

Meanwhile, fellow central defender Duberry has an outside chance of facing City after missing the club's 3-1 defeat by Arsenal before the international break with a chest injury.

"Sonky had a minor groin strain from the Arsenal game, but I'm sure he will train on Thursday and be fine for Man City," Fearn told the club's official website.

"'Doobs' is in light training at the moment, and we'll keep reviewing him as the week goes by. He might have a chance for the weekend."

Meanwhile, the Royals are keeping their fingers crossed that long-term Achilles injury absentee Glenn Little will receive some positive news this week.

"We're seeing the surgeon on Thursday. That will give us more clarification on when he can get running and so on," added Fearn.

"The six weeks after the op are the most important and we've reached the end of that now. The next step is to get detail of where to go next. He's doing well, and is probably a quarter of the way through."
