Royals launch Kebe appeal

Reading have lodged an appeal with the Football Association after Jimmy Kebe was controversially sent off in the 1-0 victory at Barnsley.

The 24-year-old French midfielder was dismissed for violent conduct towards the end of the first half at Oakwell after jostling with Tykes defender Dennis Souza, who did not appear to be concerned by the spat.

Director of football Nick Hammond told the Royals' official website "You can see the Barnsley player who was involved and his reaction is clear.

"Steve Coppell also had a clear view and believes it was very harsh and unfair. We aren't the sort of club to make frivolous appeals."

The appeal will be heard on Tuesday afternoon.
