Royals extend Federici deal

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has signed an extended contract to keep him at the Madejski Stadium until the summer of 2011.

The 23-year-old Australian's current deal was set to run out at the end of the season, but Federici has now earned a longer-term stay.

Director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website: "Adam has proved to be a more than able deputy for Marcus Hahnemann whenever he has been called upon.

"He also had an exceptional loan spell at Southend United earlier this season which generated a lot of interest, so I'm delighted to have secured his long-term services following our discussions over the last few weeks.

"Now with Marcus' unfortunate injury he has the opportunity to establish himself in the team, which has always been his number one target while he has been here."
