Royals duo miss out
03 Oct 2006 - 10:02:00
Injured Reading duo Graeme Murty and Ibrahima Sonko have been forced to pull out of international duty with Scotland and Senegal respectively.
Murty missed Sunday's 1-0 victory at West Ham with a hamstring injury while Sonko picked up a groin strain in the Upton Park clash.
However, Royals physio Jon Fearn is confident they will both be available for the Premiership clash against Chelsea later this month.
He told the club's official website: "Sonko strained a muscle in his groin when he overstretched during the game on Sunday. He's also got a minor hip strain that's preventing him from training, but I'd expect him to be fit in time for the Chelsea game.
"Murts damaged his hamstring during the United game but he's progressing, and again I would expect him to be fit for Chelsea."
Meanwhile, the goal hero from Sunday's win, Ki-Hyeon Seol, believes it is easier playing in the Premiership than the Championship.
The South Korea international, who moved to Reading from Wolves in the summer, said: "There's a big difference between the Championship and the Premiership but I feel it's more difficult to play in the Championship.
"I've been in English football for three years so this is not difficult for me. I've started well but there's a long way to go and I've got more to show.
"I found it very hard to start with because it's a new team and I didn't do well with Wolves. Steve Coppell gave me a chance and plays me all the time so I'm just giving my best which is all I can do for a new team."
