Royals won't rush boss appointment
The Royals are looking for a replacement for Steve Coppell and Hammond believes it is important to interview as many people as possible.
He said: "I've been here a long time and understand the culture of our club.
"Because of that, in my mind there are people who would sit towards the top of the list.
"But until you look someone in the eye you don't know, so my view is to speak to a number of people before taking it to the board for a decision."
