Royals progress pleases Sigurdsson

The Royals have suffered a faltering start to their Championship campaign but the Iceland Under-21 international believes the team are making progress despite languishing in 21st place.

"I'm happy to be in the team at the moment but results aren't going the way we want them to go," Sigurdsson told the Reading Chronicle.

"It's been hard for the fans because they want to be back up there. We were in the Premier League a couple of years ago so hopefully they will be a bit more patient.

"But I think we're playing better stuff than we were at the start of the season. Obviously we're a new team but I think we're improving with every game.

"I know we let in a couple of goals against Middlesbrough but we have also played some positive stuff and hopefully we can kick-on now and get some more points on the board."
