Royals flush after red card

Reading boss Brian McDermott was disappointed to see Zurab Khizanishvili sent off - but admitted it galvanised his side as they beat Barnsley 3-0. Khizanishvili saw red for a second booking midway through the second half but Jimmy Kebe, Ian Harte and Hal Robson-Kanu secured the three points. "When you are looking for the first goal you have got to keep going. It might take 60 or 70 minutes," said McDermott. "I think the sending-off of Zurab Khizanishvili galvanised the crowd and they really got behind us. I have seen it again and it wasn't even a foul, let alone a second yellow and a sending-off. "The referee and linesman got a few things wrong and I think that helped to get us going. We can't appeal against the dismissal though so he will miss the Ipswich game on Tuesday."
