The Royals won four of their five league games last month to put McDermott in contention, as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1927.[LNB]The superb run of form also saw McDermott's side score 17 goals in the six games they played during what was his first full month in charge.[LNB]Striker Simon Church has also been nominated for the player of the month award after scoring four goals during the four-week period.[LNB]McDermott, meanwhile, believes the club's fans can play a pivotal role ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Aston Villa.[LNB]The Royals have already sold 21,000 tickets for the home clash against Martin O'Neill's Premier League side having already despatched Liverpool, Burnley and West Brom from the competition this season.[LNB]McDermott is hopeful of repeating the feat against Villa and believes that the more raucous the home support, the more chance his side have.[LNB]"I'd love to have a full house because there's nothing like the Madejski when it's full, everyone gets behind the team," he told the club's official website.[LNB]"We had that against Sheffield Wednesday, they made a really good noise and encouraged the players. If we can get that against Villa it could make the difference.[LNB]"We're in the last eight of the FA Cup for the first time since 1927 and for me it's fantastic. I want more of it."[LNB][LNB]
