Rodgers to seek Coppell advice

The former Watford manager took charge of the Royals earlier this month after defeat in the play-off semi-final to Burnley prompted Coppell to resign. "I'm very much a man of my own ideas but I do like to speak to good people and mentors," Rodgers told the club's official website. "Steve is a guy who transformed the club, an outstanding manager. It's a new cycle now but I will certainly speak to him about his ideas and in ways it can benefit the club." Pre-season training begins on July 6 and Rodgers has promised a close bond between himself and his players. "I'm not a manager that sits on his high horse. I'm a manager that after a couple of weeks will feel the spirit and the bond of the place," he added.
