Rodgers: Cup clash can wait

The Royals host Liverpool at the Madejski Stadium in the third round of the cup on the weekend of January 2/3.

However, Reading are only a point above the Championship relegation zone and Rodgers knows they cannot afford to let their concentration slip.

He told the official website: "It's a great draw for the club and the supporters. It's always good for the players to test themselves against the best players.

"I like to win every game and I will put out a side in every game that I think can win. The FA Cup gives you chance to build momentum. If players are doing well, they will get the chance to play.

"We're looking forward to it but there are still six games before then. We're concentrating on the league and this weekend's game against Sheffield Wednesday."
